Longan is a tropical fruit that is under the same family as lychee and rambutan. The fruit has a bark-like shell that covers the its gelatinous bulb with a black inedible seed inside. A good source of Vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. Peak season for longan varies on location but ranges from late June until October.
