Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey is a highly unique, award-winning expression crafted from an unconventional mash bill of 95% corn and 5% malted barley. Departing from traditional bourbon cask aging, it is fully matured in ex-Californian Cabernet Sauvignon red wine barrels, which gives the whiskey a distinct amber-red hue and a lush fruit profile.
ABV: 46% (Non-chill filtered)
Volume: Typically available in 700 ml bottles.
Method: Column-distilled and triple-distilled.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet and elegant with aromas of red grape, bright berries, vanilla custard, honey wheat toast, and a hint of nutmeg spice.
Palate: A silky, buttery mouthfeel featuring layers of sweet corn, spice, honeyed orchard fruits, and cranberry that develop into rich red-berry compote.
Finish: Short to medium, dry, and clean, defined by wood spice and lingering, wine-like oak tannins.
